Shetland pony with gelded Lama?

I work at a petting zoo.We have two mares and a stallion.Recently a mare gave birth and the stallion is being very aggressive to the foal so we separated the mare and foal from the stallion. The mare is currently in the veterinary area of the zoo in a pen that is 2x3m(6.5×10 ft) pen
so what i want to know is when is it going to be ok to try to put them back in with the stallion and if we cant will it be ok to put them in with a gelded lama
the stallion is normaly the sweetest horse in the world he would never hurt a fly

Most stallions are agressive towards foals. In the wild mares would leave the herd with foals until they were weaned. The stallion will probably never except the foal until it is big enough to be “put in its place”

The lama might be ok, depending on the the lama. Some can very moody and protective. If i were you I’d leave the mare and foal alone as trying to introduce new partners will only confuse the mare and foal and will probably get one or both of them hurt. Mares can be very aggressive with a foal at side and if she isnt totally comfrable with the situation she will be very threated. It might also effect there bond and she might reject the foal or stop nursing. The best thing to do is put them somewhere quiet together and let them be alone.
